Biography of Actress Aishwarya Rai

Aishwarya Rai is also known as Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as she got added Bachchan name after Marrying with Abhishek Bachchan.  She was born on 1st November 1973.  She was the first runner up of Miss India Pageant.  She was also the winner of Miss World Pageant in 1994.

Basically she was born in Mangalore and her family belongs to Kannada Origin.

As she became Miss World then suddenly the doors of Bollywood Opened for her and she start getting films.  Her first Film was Iruvar and was made in 1997.  After that she appeared as an actress in Jeans Film which was not big commercial success film.  She got the chance to appear in Sanjay Leela Bansali Film as an Actress in Film called Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam in 1999.  This film was hit and made good commercial business.  Now, she got recognized in The Bollywood Industry and this was her first Bollywood Hit Movie.    She was also Awarded as the Best Actress Award for Movie Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam in 1999.

She appeared in Dhoom 2 which was a Blockbuster Movie.  She also appeared in Devdass which was another hit movie.  She appeared in Mohabateein was Big Hit Movie.  Her Lifetime Biggest Hit Movie was Robot.

There was rumor of her affair with Salman Khan.  It was just a Rumor and nothing else.  She married with Abhishek Bachchan in 2007 and blessed with one child also.

She became Goodwill Ambassador for the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS). She was awarded with the Padma Shri by the Government of India in 2009, and the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the Government of France in 2012.
